LGD Freestyle Dance Battles

LGD DANCE BATTLES FINAL-min
The second edition of the LGD Freestyle Dance Battles is coming up on January 28th and promises to be an exciting event for dancers and dance fans alike in Uganda and the region. These events are organized by The Local Get Down (LGD), a freestyle dance fellowship that was founded in 2014 by Shane Munina and his fellow dancers. In partnership with the Goethe Zentrum Kampala, LGD has organized this edition of the freestyle dance battles, which will bring together some of the best dancers in Uganda and the region to showcase their skills and compete for cash prizes and bragging rights. Freestyle dance is a form of dance that is characterized by its improvisational nature and the use of various styles and techniques. It can include elements of hip hop, breakdancing, popping, locking, and more. At an LGD Freestyle Dance Battle, dancers have the opportunity to showcase their unique styles and abilities as they go head-to-head in a series of one-on-one battles. The format of an LGD Freestyle Dance Battle varies, but typically consists of a series of elimination rounds in which dancers are paired up and given a set amount of time to improvise a dance battle against each other. The judges, who are usually made up of experienced dancers and choreographers, score the dancers based on their creativity, style, technique, and stage presence. One of the great things about LGD Freestyle Dance Battles is that they are open to dancers of all levels and backgrounds. Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting out in dance, there is a place for you at one of these events. In addition to the main competition, many LGD Freestyle Dance Battles also feature workshops and classes led by professional dancers, as well as performances by local dance crews and special guest performers. This edition of the LGD Freestyle Dance Battles will be no exception, with a lineup of exciting workshops and performances in addition to the main competition. If you are a dancer looking to showcase your skills and test your mettle against some of the best dancers in Uganda and the region, or just a fan of dance looking for a high-energy, exciting event, the LGD Freestyle Dance Battles organized by The Local Get Down freestyle dance fellowship in partnership with the Goethe Zentrum Kampala is not to be missed. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this exciting celebration of dance on January 28th.
